PUBLIC is a pop/rock trio from Cincinnati, Ohio that has spent the past few years cutting their teeth touring the country and self-producing their infectious and unique brand of pop. John Vaughn (Lead vocals/guitar), Ben Lapps (Percussion), and Matthew Alvarado (bass/synth/vocals) met in their high school jazz orchestra where they began organizing basement jam sessions and bonding over similar tastes in music ranging everywhere from classic rock and punk to disco and funk. They went on from performing in their school talent show and winning a battle of the bands to earn studio time, to opening for national acts all over the country.

After gaining notable standing in their hometown - the band embarked on their first US tour supporting fellow Ohio natives Walk the Moon (directly after the release of pop smash “Shut Up and Dance”) and have since gone on to support notable acts such as Twenty One Pilots, Andy Grammer, AJR, and just recently - a sold out US tour with pop veteran Jesse McCartney. The musical talents and charisma of PUBLIC truly come alive in their live show, turning their slick collection of pop songs into an arena ready rock and roll show complete with intense guitar solos, daring acrobatics, and a truly electric connection with the crowd - creating a die hard fanbase wherever they go. PUBLIC consistently pushes the boundaries of their sound and what is expected from an unsigned band of three friends - putting everything they can into both the records they cut and the shows they play.

PUBLIC is currently promoting their recently released single “One That I Want” with early support from the likes of RadioDisney, NickRadio, and IHeartRadio - as well as a live feature from Elvis Duran on his morning show from New York’s Z100 radio station.
