Bio

The Muggs are a blues rock band based out of Detroit, MI comprised of Danny Methric on lead vocals/guitar, Tony DeNardo on Fender Rhodes Bass, and Todd Glass on drums. In 2006, 3 of their songs became the soundtrack for the 2005/2006 Dodge Charger website. In 2007 they were named the Best Blues Artist/Group by Real Detroit Weekly, and they were accepted into the top 12, out of 10,000 applicants, to appear on the show The Next Great American Band.

In 2008 The Muggs were voted the Best Rock Band of the Year 2007 by Detroit radio station 101 The WRIF, they teamed up with Dodge again for a promotional CD compilation called Out of Detroit & Into Dodge, they won Outstanding Rock Artist/Group and lead singer/guitarist, Danny Methric, won Outstanding Rock/Pop Instrumentalist at the Detroit Music Awards, and they made the 100 Hot Unsigned Bands list in Music Connection. In 2009 USA Today selected The Muggs album On With The Show as the #5 record of the year for 2008 via the Nightwatchers House of Rock blog site, Fox Sports Radio played their music on national radio during the NCAA Final Four Men’s Basketball Tournament, they won the award for Outstanding Rock/Pop Recording at the Detroit Music Awards for On With The Show, they won Best Indie Rock Band via Real Detroit Weekly, and 2 of their songs were featured in the indie film Stick It In Detroit.

In 2010 their song “All Around You” was featured in the A&E show Gene Simmons Family Jewels, and they made their first music video, “Slow Curve,” with award winning filmmaker Jeff Schultz. In 2011 The Muggs won Outstanding Video/Independent Budget for “Slow Curve” at the Detroit Music Awards, they licensed 3 songs for the indie film/documentary The Waters Of Greenstone - A New Zealand Saga, and they licensed several songs in the show Jesse James Presents Austin Speed Shop - FENDERS.

In 2012 The Muggs completed their Born Ugly European tour playing 27 shows in 33 days. They have also opened for many great bands, including: Jack Bruce of Cream, Glenn Hughes of Deep Purple/Black Sabbath, Thin Lizzy, Warrant, and the Verve Pipe. They are now on Pandora.com as well.
