8/11/2006 Chris Stills Signs with NSM

North Star Media has signed singer-songwriter Chris Stills to a worldwide publishing administration deal. The deal covers Stills’ catalogue, including his debut album 100 Year Thing, released by Atlantic in 1998, and his current self-titled album on V2 Records.

NSM will provide full-service administration, as well as pitch Stills’ catalogue to film/TV and advertising.  Stills’ current studio release is a bilingual homage to the diverse musical and cultural influences of his French and American roots.

On the signing, North Star Media President Ron Sobel said, “We’re thrilled to represent this gifted and unique artist. We’re very excited about Chris’ music and particularly about the licensing opportunities for film/TV and advertising, both stateside and overseas”

About Chris Stills As the son of Stephen Stills and French singer/songwriter Véronique Sanson, there's no denying that singer-songwriter Chris Stills comes from musical roots. Chris drew influence from both parents to create his own mixture of rock, folk, and blues on 100 Year Thing(1998). Other influences come from Chris' experience playing over the years with acts likethe Jayhawksand Ryan Adams.

Stills' self-titled sophomore record (2006) draws equally from his French and American heritages, and for the first time he sings in both English and French. Stills also recently released When the Pain Dies Down: Live in Paris, a live EP recorded at the Studio du Palais.
