We are excited to announce the newest addition to the North Star Media roster, r&b/pop/soul artist IMQ!!
IIMQ is a Ghanaian singer and songwriter hailing from Long Beach, California. He specializes in African dance and pop styles, creating music that colors outside of the lines. IMQ draws inspiration from his African heritage as well as his everyday surroundings. He cites musical masters like Michael Jackson, Prince, James Brown, Justin Timberlake and Seal as influences on his style. The Movado Watch company partnered with IMQ and featured his song, "Hot Lil Thang", in one of their promotional campaigns. Following this usage, IMQ was awarded Movado's Future Legends plaque, presented by Derek Jeter and Movado CEO, Efraim Grinberg. IMQ’s “Weekend” single has now notched over 1 Million streams on Spotify. In addition to a successive string of recent single releases, he also performs regularly in the San Fran and SoCal areas. Regarding live performance, IMQ declares, “The stage is where I leave my heart.”
